Water Purifier or Ionizer - Which is a Better Choice?
Pure water is recommended as a large part of a healthy diet. A water purifier
or ionizer can be used to provide the water necessary for that diet. These
products, or product if a two-in-one device is used, can fit right into your
existing kitchen plumbing along with a reverse osmosis system, or may be easily
added as a counter-top addition.
Tap water, as taken from the common kitchen tap, is often not pure. It may
contain traces of heavy metals, chemicals, parasites, or other potentially
harmful substances. An ionizer or purifier may be used to treat the supply from
the kitchen tap, removing most or all of any additional substances that may be
found in common tap water. A purifier works through reverse osmosis. Reverse
Osmosis water purifiers pass water through
a semi-permeable membrane, at pressure. The membrane allows the supply to pass
but prevents other substances, present in the water as dissolved salts, from
passing. The substances remain behind on the membrane once the water has passed
through and the water is purified for drinking.
In addition of an ionizer to your whole
house water filter system or reverse osmosis purification system will also make
the water from your tap healthier. Ionizing H2O is achieved by positively or
negatively charging its molecules. Ionized water changes in several fundamental
ways. Water from an ionizer is more alkaline, meaning it has a higher pH rating,
making it easier to absorb into the blood; it has a higher oxygen content; and
it is has a lower surface tension, which allows it to break into smaller pieces
for easy absorption through cell walls.
Use of an ionizer and/or purifier in association with daily water drinking is
not only healthier, but also tastier. Reverse osmosis removes additional salts
from the water while ionization changes the structure to make it easier for your
body to use.
